The Hill

The Hill is a mushroomy, broken-in neutral that straddles brown and grey. The color of old-asphalt; low-chroma and in-between. 

My Dads house sits atop cliffs that drop down hundreds of feet to railroad tracks below.  

As you can imagine, it's kind of a doozy to get to, especially in the Colorado winters. Our driveway is a 50º slope that is simply referred to as "The Hill" by my family. Endless text threads over the years asking "how's The Hill?" when our parents ask if we will be home for dinner. It's determined my willingness to leave the house in winter more times than I can count. And it's been a right of passage for me and my siblings to fail our 4-wheel-drive to the top after a storm, and to consequently slide back down and take our neighbors fence right out. It's the star of the Winter half of this palette for me, because it's just so freaking hilarious that it has become a color, and a good one at that! The Hill!
