Collection: Yarn Weights and Bases!

Here at Baby Cat Yarns, we custom dye our hyper-curated palettes across a myriad of bare wool bases, from Lace to Worsted weight yarn.

We carry Domestic Merino in DK and Sport on a preorder basis. These run on limited palettes. This is a 100% American grown and processed non-superwash merino wool. It is a 2ply worsted spun. You will not see this dyed-to-order on all colors, but on available colors here instead.

As for dyed-to-order, at Baby Cat Yarns we carry mainly 100% Superwash Merino, or an 80% Superwash Merino 20% Nylon blend, for just a bit of added durability. We also have a few luxury bases floating in there too-- all protein fibers.

Below is an up-close look at each dyed-to-order base! All colorways in the shop are photographed on DK weight yarn ('cause I luv it. whatever), but are available for purchase across any weight/blend of your preference. Your order will be dyed just for you, on the weight you select in the quantity you select. 

Bare skeins are available for purchase if you want, but this page is really just to show what the weight and ply of the yarn look like! If you purchase on this page, you are not purchasing a dyed skein, you are purchasing a bare skein. 

To select a your yarn weight/blend, simply:

• Go to the colorway of your choice
• Select the drop down menu, and pick your weight/blend
• Select your quantity of skeins
• Proceed through checkout
• Wait for the goodness in the mail!
