Carl Leo

My grandpa was quite the eccentric. He was in the military in his younger years and spent some hard years working at NORAD here in Colorado (learning top secret stuff he took to his grave! Like... ARE ALIENS REAL, GRANDPA!?) before he switched gears to spend the rest of his life working for the forest service. He lived in a secluded valley in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Some may have called him a hermit or even counter-cultural, but to me, he was just pipe-smoking Grandpa Carl-- the original Hipster. 

This color, a mix of chartreuse and brown, perfectly captures his essence. I must have inherited my love for nature and solitude from him. He knew the land like the back of his hand and respected it with all his heart. It's only fitting that his deep, earthen, outdoorsy sludge is a main character in this palette! It's Carl Leo!
