Cadmium

Cadmium is a dry, true red. Flat, straightforward, bold, neutral with pop.

This mineral rich red is inspired by the garments of the Virgin Mary in Peter Paul Ruebens 'Adoration of the Magi'. Or maybe it was pops of cardinal red Michelangelo worked into the entirety of the Last Judgement painting in the Sistine Chapel. It's the red that tells your eye exactly where to go, that draws in the audience and invites them to stay awhile. All the rage in flemish renaissance works... used as a color of status and a sign of wealth. 

We wanted heavy metals and we can AFFORD IT!
