Bear Den

Bear Den is the real deal when it comes to brown. No frills, no fuss. Just even-keeled, inviting, dark and autumnal.

The back of our land has a creek running through it, and it seems to not only be my favorite part of The Valley, but the bears love it too! For as long as I can remember, we have had mamas and cubs living a stones throw from my back door; their den on the edge of the creek. Growing up-- I feared them. Their paw prints in the snow always sent a shiver down my spine and made me pick up my pace when I walked to my car in the morning.

But now they feel like a the most sacred gift. Their energy is big, their curiosity insatiable. They could live anywhere they want in these mountains, but they have picked the same valley as me to call home as me. No one else I'd rather grow up with.
