The back of the sweater is a brioche cable lover’s dream, with the hexagonal design covering the entire back of the sweater. The hexagonal cables also flow over the shoulders and around the sides of the garment, allowing the pattern to continue uninterrupted as it passes over the seams to create organic sloping lines.

The cable motif makes an additional appearance worked sideways on the sleeve cuffs, adding a detail that is engaging to knit and fun to wear.

Hexellent is a set-in sleeve sweater, knit flat in pieces and seamed in order to provide the added structure needed with stretchy brioche fabric. The sweater is knit in two-color brioche with the designs formed by brioche cables. The sweater is intended to be fitted at the bust, though with the large amount of stretch in the fabric, it will not feel tight at all, even with slight negative ease. The design includes a small amount of A-line shaping that is worked entirely in the front panel of the sweater. The v-neck is finished with an applied i-cord which is knit after the pieces are seamed together. The sleeves have a modified bell style fit, with the sleeve falling straight from the elbow to the wrist.

Video tutorials are linked in the pattern for many techniques including brioche cables, short rows, and seaming.
